Signs, Symptoms and Effects of Overexposure
Ingestion (swallowing) May be harmful or fatal if swallowed. Due to its low viscosity, it may enter lungs during
swallowing or vomiting. Once in lungs serious damage may occur.
Skin Contact Can cause skin irritation, defatting of skin, redness.
Eye Contact Eye irritant.
Inhalation (breathing) May irritate nose, throat, and lungs. Prolonged or repeated exposure to vapor may cause
headache, dizziness, nausea, weakness and loss of coordination.
Other Effects of Prolonged/Repeated Overexposure
This material has not been identified as a carcinogen by NTP, IARC or OSHA. Above effects may be
aggravated with repeated overexposure.
EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES
Ingestion (swallowing) DO NOT induce vomiting. Call physician immediately
Skin Contact Remove all contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water. If signs of irritation develop,
seek medical attention.
Eye Contact Remove any contact lens. Flush with clean water for 15 minutes. If irritation develops or
persists, call a physician.
Inhalation (breathing) Remove person to fresh air. Call a physician if unconscious and for symptoms described
above.
Comments NOTE TO PHYSICIANS: Ingestion or subsequent vomiting can result in aspiration of light hydrocarbon
liquid into the lungs which can cause pneumonitis
